I am seeking someone who will love me forever.

Update: The Great Gatsby was adopted on June 21st!

The Great Gatsby
is still a baby boy, but well on his way to developing into a charming, debonair adult.

He is a Lionhead and Harlequin mix rabbit, neutered, about 8-10 months of age.

The Great Gatsby was surrendered to us by his previous owner, who had purchased him at a pet store (presumably to be an "Easter bunny").

Like countless others sold for a quick buck as a holiday gimmick, he found himself in desperate need once the holiday passed.

The Great Gatsby is friendly, cute as can be, and he has a gentle nature.

He is one of 70 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please visit and ask for him by name.

Please help make up for all the love I missed.

Update: Layla was adopted on May 31st!

At the time of rescue Layla was very shy, scared she was about to be hit again.

But tender touching and soothing voices from staff and volunteers have helped her realize she is now safe and her future is full of hope and promise.

Layla is a precious little Yorkshire Terrier, spayed, and approximately 6 years of age.

Emerging from her shell, she has come to adore human attention and enjoy playtimes.

Layla needs an experienced, gentle home where her progress can continue.

She debuts for adoption today. Please budget extra for regular grooming care.

I have a lifetime of wonderful cheer to share with you.

Update: Honey Girl was adopted on June 2nd!

Honey Girl
is a rustic sweetheart.

She has a very sunny, joyful nature and surprising pep for her age.

Honey Girl is a Tibetan Spaniel, approximately 8 years of age. She is spayed and has a beautiful blue sunburst in the bottom of her left eye.

Honey Girl enjoys other friendly dogs.

We rescued her from another shelter, so we do not have much background information.

Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for this dazzling girl by name.

I hope you can see that I am a sparkling jewel.

Update: Annie was adopted on June 23rd!

Beautiful inside & out, Annie's cheery and loving nature positively shines.

She enjoys being on a gentle lap, soaking up adoration.

Annie is an American Eskimo, spayed female, about 7 years of age.

We rescued Annie from another shelter. She debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA today.

I can be your own special sunshine!

Update: Lottie was adopted on June 29th!

What a golden girl, sweet and lovable, with a wonderful disposition.

Lottie is warm-hearted and endearing, chock full of unconditional love to share with you.

She is a German Shepherd mix, spayed female, about 7 years of age.

We rescued Lottie from another shelter. She apparently had been surrendered there when her previous owner moved into a small apartment.

Lottie reportedly was solely living outdoors, which is dangerous in our desert climate. Please patiently give her the good guidance she needs to adjust to living predominantly indoors with you as a cherished member of the family.

Lottie debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am a baby now, but will you still love me when I grow old?

Update: Simba was adopted on May 31st!

Mistakenly thought of as a toy or a gimmick - "an Easter bunny" - baby Simba, like so many other rabbits, found himself homeless and in need shortly after the Easter holiday.

He is a "kit" (a baby bunny), a Lionhead mix with beautiful hair and coloring. He is neutered and approximately 6 months of age.

Simba loves to snuggle. He is outgoing and desires plenty of daily human contact. Please only consider him if you have plenty of time to spend with him each day.

We love to swim in a pond together every day.

Update: Donna & Dave Duckie were adopted on August 28th!

Donna & Dave Duckie
are baby siblings, girl & boy, who would love to stay together forever.

At the time of rescue they were newborns. Foster care in a compassionate home saved them and helped socialize them with people and other animals.

Donna & Dave Duckie are now 4 months young and debuting for adoption.

They are very social, enjoying human touch, even eating out of your hand. In their foster home they liked to waddle indoors at least once a day for attention.

Donna & Dave Duckie are used to having a nice, safe pond to swim in. Please only consider them if you can provide a similar clean, protected pond, because this provides them with so much pleasure.

Can I count on you to stick with me forever?

Update: Huck Finn was adopted on May 31st!

Like so many other innocent animals, Huck Finn has been handed around from home to home, making him wonder if humans are capable of returning the unconditional love he is so eager to offer.

A lovebug through and through, meet him and you will be charmed by his cute behaviors and loving nature.

Huck Finn is a Shih-Tzu, neutered male, about 4 years of age.

Huck Finn enjoys other sweet and friendly dogs, and be sure to budget extra for regular grooming care.

I have an amazing world of unconditional love to share with you.

Update: Bosely was adopted on June 3rd!

Bosely
has a sparkling personality and exceptionally affectionate temperament.

He loves laying his head in your lap, soaking up your adoration and petting.

Bosely is a handsome mix of many breeds, perhaps including Collie, Australian Shepherd, and Retriever. He is neutered and about 2 years young.

We rescued Bosely from another shelter.

This bright, fun-loving boy wants to participate in as many activities with you as possible. Please be sure to have him live primarily indoors with you as a cherished member of the family.

Bosely debuts for adoption today.

Loving foster care saved our lives.

Update: All 6 puppies were adopted on their debut day for adoption, May 29th!

Siblings Lyrin & Shyloon (pictured above), and their four siblings (Gavrick, Pierre, Toby & Vitality) are nicknamed "The Radiant Puppies" due to their sunny personalities and syrupy-sweet natures. Shyloon is a girl and the others are boys.

We rescued the 6 puppies when they were quite fragile, at just one week of age, when their mother had a serious infection and could not care for them.

The Radiant Puppies were immediately placed in a foster home for special care and socialization, all thriving beautifully.

The Radiant Puppies are reportedly Lhasa-Poos (Lhasa Apso & Poodle mixes). They are spayed/neutered and approximately 3 months of age.

They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

The Radiant Puppies debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please be sure you can make a lifetime commitment to them and can budget extra for regular grooming care.

I want someone who will love me just as much when I get older.

Update: Coco was adopted on May 28th!

Prettier than a painting, Coco is a precious little princess who cherishes being the center of your adoration and attention.

She is a gorgeous Maltese, spayed female, 2 years young.

Coco is good with other friendly dogs and compatible with mature, gentle children.

Please plan on regular grooming care for her.

Coco is reportedly housetrained and crate-trained, but please note that she may need your patience and guidance still (due to using an "indoor toilet for dogs").

Coco needed us due to her previous owner's financial hardship.

She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Will someone please love me and keep me forever?

Update: Bella was adopted on May 28th!

Baby Bella needed us when her previous owner moved away.

I deserve love too.

Update: Drama was adopted on May 29th!

This innocent little angel has had numerous obstacles during her short life so far.

But her spirit is bright and she is grateful for every loving day on Earth.

Drama is a Chihuahua mix puppy with lovely brindle coloring and precious, front-folding ears. She is spayed, 5 months of age, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

We rescued Drama from her previous owner who could not afford to provide her with the emergency care needed to save her life after she contracted the parvo virus.

We had intensive medical care provided for Drama and she recovered. But during her treatment her veterinarian discovered that she has a congenital defect -- a mid-grade pulmonary valve murmur -- that could affect her lifespan.

Drama will do best with a quieter lifestyle. It is also important to keep her at a proper weight, as extra pounds just burden her system that much more.

Drama loves life, loves people, and loves other dogs. She may live for a decade or more, or she could have only months, it is just too soon to tell.

But she deserves every minute of love and adoration possible while with us on Earth! Please open your heart to Drama.

Let me steal your heart.

An adorable puppy, innocent and playful, Snoopy is infinitely lovable and endearing.

He is a Chihuahua mix with stunning coloring, neutered male, approximately 7 months young.

Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for Snoopy's safety and protection.

Snoopy needed us because his previous owner said she had too many dogs.

He enjoys other sweet, friendly dogs. He may need your patience and good guidance to complete housetraining.

Adopt me and I can be your real-life Teddy Bear.

Update: Vernon was adopted on July 8th!

Vernon's
eyes and smile reveal his very warm nature.

Outgoing and sweet, he cherishes your attention and adoration.

Vernon reportedly knows some basic training commands and he may be compatible with some cats and dogs.

He is a Bully mix, one chocolate eye and one sky blue eye, neutered male, about 2 years of age.

We rescued Vernon from another shelter.

This boy has so much love to share with you. Please come meet him and spend some time with him today in our courtyard.

Cradle me like a baby.

Update: Blazer was adopted on June 12th!

Let Blazer charm and dazzle you with his affectionate, snuggly nature.

Blazer is an exceptionally handsome Mackerel Tabby with hazel eyes, neutered male, about one year of age.

One of his cutest behaviors is doing happy feet in the air while leaning into you while being cradled.

Blazer needed us due to his previous owner's financial hardship.

He enjoys other sweet cats and looks forward to a safe, secure lifestyle, indoors-only.

Blazer is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered cats for adoption today in the free-roaming Cat Condos at Nevada SPCA.

Silky Terrier knowledge and/or experience is preferred for his adoption.

Please do not let anyone ever throw me away again.

Update: Douglas was adopted on May 24th!

Abandoned on the streets, this precious, petite little boy was not doing well fending for himself and he was in enormous danger of being struck and killed by a vehicle.

Getting to know Douglas, he is adorable! He is frisky, playful, and lovable.

Douglas is a Chihuahua & Dachshund mix, neutered male, just a year of age.

He enjoys other sweet and friendly dogs.

Please remember to puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety and protection.

Troy is housetrained, intelligent, and well-behaved. He knows the basic dog training commands and he is eager to please.

He needed us when his previous owner relocated to a home where dogs are not allowed.

Troy may be best as the only dog in the home. Doberman Pinscher knowledge and/or experience is preferred.

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Me and my babies were thrown away in an old box.

Update: Anna was adopted on June 3rd!

With radiant blue eyes and a very loving nature, we find Anna irresistible!

She is a gorgeous Himalayan & Ragdoll mix, spayed female, 2 years young.

Anna will do best in a home as a lap cat. She enjoys snuggling in your lap and curling up in your arms for a purr-fest.

Anna's four kittens also survived their abandonment. They were stuffed in an worn-out box with her and thrown away in an industrial area. Fortunately, one of our staff happened to find them before they died of starvation or dehydration.

Anna's kittens are in foster care. They will be available for adoption too once they have completed their series of booster vaccines and become old enough that we can spay/neuter them.

Please visit Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condos and ask for Anna by name. She is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered felines for adoption today.

You were there for me when I was in peril.

Update: Kitty was adopted on May 31st!

Donations to Nevada SPCA save little angels like Kitty who are often in immediate danger at the time of rescue.

Kitty had contracted the deadly parvo virus and her previous owner was not willing or able to provide the emergency medical care needed to save her life.

We had this intensive care provided to her, and after extensive treatment, she made a full, beautiful recovery.

Kitty is a darling Chihuahua mix with a tiny antelope-like appearance. She is spayed and about 3 years young.

Please be sure to carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety and protection.

To help us save other community animals in need like Kitty, please visit Nevada SPCA's online donation page. Thank you.

They tied me to a tree and then walked away forever.

Update: Birch was adopted on June 11th!

We feel so fortunate to have discovered this abandoned boy before any harm came to him.

A complete sweetheart with a devoted nature, Birch is an especially endearing youngster and he is ready to provide a lifetime of unconditional love.

Birch is a handsome Labrador Retriever mix, neutered male, about 2 years young.

He enjoys other friendly dogs and he has the playfulness often seen in puppies.

Please adopt Birch today at Nevada SPCA and ensure he never has his heart broken again from ultimate rejection and abandonment.

Cuddle with me and help me feel safe.

Nigel is both a bouncy, playful puppy and a gentle spirit who loves to snuggle and give kisses.

At the time of rescue, trying to fend for himself on the streets, he was ill. We provided medical treatment for him and he recovered beautifully.

Nigel is an adorable Heinz 57, perhaps with Toy and Terrier, and we expect him to remain small in size. He is neutered and approximately 3 months of age.

Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety and protection.

Nigel is one of almost 200 rescued, spayed/neutered dogs for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

We are baby girls who need a lifetime commitment from you.

Update: Marti & Rizzo were adopted on June 26th!

Marti & Rizzo
are strongly bonded guinea pig girls, soul-mates, who want and need to be adopted together.

We discovered these two sweethearts in a filthy storage container with molded food.

Marti & Rizzo certainly deserve better, and with love and socialization they will blossom beautifully and gain trust.

Both girls are 9 months young. Marti is an Abyssinian and Rizzo is a smooth-coated American, both with rich, chocolate coloring.

Guinea pigs are social animals and need indoor-only lifestyles in our desert climate.

Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for these baby girls by name.

We are used to a quiet lifestyle and getting lots of attention.

Update 2: Tippy and Tiny were adopted on May 28th!

Update: Trixie was adopted on May 22nd!

Tippy
(pictured here) and her sisters Tiny and Trixie are darling girls who needed us when their previous owner became hospitalized.

All three are Chihuahuas and spayed. Tippy and Trixie and 2 years young, while precious Tiny is an 11-year old senior.

The girls enjoy other sweet, friendly dogs and they are reportedly housetrained (with paper training).

They are reportedly used to being with someone who is home almost all of the time. Strangers cause them anxiety, at least at first.

Tippy, Tiny, and Trixie can be adopted separately. But please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong love and companionship.

You can get lost in my ocean blue eyes.

Update: Crystal was adopted on June 5th!

Crystal
has a lovely soul to match her beautiful face and temperament.

She would love to be adopted into a gentle, attentive home and spoiled rotten.

Crystal needed us when her previous owner became too ill to care for her.

She is a snow white shorthair, spayed female, 7 years of age.

Crystal's front feet were previously declawed, so it is especially critical that she is an indoor-only cat. (We only adopt cats to indoor-only homes.)

She may be best as the only pet in the home because that is what she is used to, but she is fine with other cats who respect her space.

Crystal is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered cats for adoption today in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms. Please visit and ask for her by name.

She is on a special diet (to reduce crystals in her urine).

Miniature Schnauzer knowledge and/or experience is preferred for Gigi's adoption.

I am alive today because of you.

Update: Mary Margaret was adopted on May 20th!

When Mary Margaret contracted the dreaded parvo virus, her previous owner was either unwilling or unable to provide her with the emergency care needed to save her life.

She was surrendered at a veterinary clinic. But instead of having her killed, the clinic contacted us and we agreed to accept her.

Following intensive care, Mary Margaret made a full recovery!

Mary Margaret debuts for adoption today. She is a precious, adorable Terrier mix, spayed female, about 2 years of age.

Despite her sad eyes, she is now a happy girl, playful and excited for the bright possibilities in her future.

Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for Mary Margaret's safety and protection.

Thank you very much to all of you who support Nevada SPCA. Your donations are what give angels like Mary Margaret the opportunity to heal bodies and souls so they can prepare for adoption into forever homes. Donations can be made online at Nevada SPCA's main web site for community animals in need.

Old boys like me need love too, please.

Ricky Casper
needs people.

He cherishes sitting in your lap, soaking up your adoration, being with you as much as possible, and even enjoying car rides.

Ricky Casper is 11 years of age, a Toy Poodle, neutered male, debuting for adoption today.

He is reportedly housetrained, but may take time adjusting to new surroundings. Please also plan on regular grooming care.

Ricky Casper has two special needs. First, he has just a few teeth left, so a softer diet is in order for him. Also, he has an enlarged heart and mid-grade heart murmur, so he takes daily medication for this.

Please open your heart to this wonderful senior.

I love kind children!

Monday, May 17, 2010

Seniors like me offer a world of unconditional love too.

Update: Shorty was adopted on June 28th!

We hear almost every day from wonderful people who have adopted senior animals, most expressing deep joy for their decisions to share their hearts and homes with those who others too often overlook based on age alone.

So please consider the emotional and loving rewards of adopting seniors and special needs animals. Our no-kill work is based on the premise that all healthy, friendly animals (or those we can make healthy and friendly by exhausting all reasonable options) can and will find forever homes.

We rescued Shorty, a senior Maltese, from another shelter. He is a neutered male, sports expressive eyes, and he is approximately 12 years of age.

Devoted and affectionate, Shorty enjoys "shadowing" those he bonds with and being with them as much as possible.

We discovered that he is bilingual -- he responds to basic commands and words in both English and Spanish.

Please plan on regular grooming care for Shorty and budget extra accordingly.

Shorty debuts for adoption today. Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for him by name.

Saturday, May 15, 2010

Foxy is reportedly compatible with gentle, kind children. And while she knows how to use a doggie door, she sometimes has accidents, so please give her your good guidance and patience to complete housetraining.

She reportedly enjoys chew toys most. Please plan on plenty of playtime with her daily, perhaps including walks too, to keep her both physically and mentally fit.

Foxy is one of approximately 200 rescued, spayed/neutered dogs for adoption on any given day at Nevada SPCA. Please visit and ask for her by name.

I am super cute, but strong-willed, so an experienced owner is best for me.

Update: Danny Boy was adopted on May 17th!

Danny Boy
lost his previous home because he was getting into tussles with other dogs in the family.

This does not mean he must be an only dog, but he may need to be the only dog in the home with an alpha personality and need a firm, experienced owner/caretaker.

Danny Boy is a darling Maltese, neutered male, just two years of age.

Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety and protection.

Please plan for regular grooming care and budget extra accordingly.

I adore kind children.

Update: Blue was adopted on July 17th!

Stunningly handsome, Blue has startlingly rich coloring and an athletic physique, and his loving nature is readily apparent from his facial expressions.

I would love to have a sister for lifelong companionship.

Update: Mamie was adopted on May 21st!

We rescued Mamie from another shelter.

Very friendly, she adores people.

Mamie seems so lonely, so it is important she is adopted into a very attentive home where she will get lots of love.

Ideally, Mamie would do best with another female guinea pig to bond with -- a new sister. If you have a single female guinea pig who similarly needs a sister, Nevada SPCA staff can help introduce the guinea pigs to ensure they get along well.

Mamie is most likely an American & English mix and she is approximately 2 years young. She is chestnut, with a wide band of white and a butterscotch facial blaze.

Please visit and ask for Mamie by name.

Update: Rocky was adopted on June 21st!

Jasmine
(pictured here), and her sister Tessa and brother Rocky, are heavenly, soulful siblings who are starved for love and affection.

The trio needed us when there was a death in their previous family.

Jasmine, Tessa and Rocky will need your patience and good guidance to learn to live indoors with you. (They were made to live outdoors only in their previous home, which is unacceptable on several levels.)

They need regular grooming care, so please plan accordingly.

Jasmine, Tessa and Rocky are Miniature Schnauzer mixes, spayed/neutered, and about 8 years of age. They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong companionship.

Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for these sweethearts by name. They are anxious to get started with their new lives.

sometimes enjoys getting into trouble, testing what you might let him get away with.

But this super cute young boy with a bubbly personality and plenty of energy is quite endearing and loving.

Googy is a small Terrier mix with red & white coloring. He is a neutered male, 2 years young, ready for adoption today.

I am so anxious to be in a loving, caring, forever home.

Update: Barley was adopted on July 26th!

Barley
was rescued from the streets, when just a "kit" (baby bunny of 2 months of age), dodging cars and trucks.

We placed him in a foster home for socialization, where he excelled! He adores people, he is litter-box trained, and he enjoys stretching out for rubs.

Barley is most likely an English Spot mix, perhaps with some Lop (due to his body shape). He is neutered and less than a year of age.

Like all domesticated rabbits in our desert climate, he needs and requires an indoor-only home for his safety and protection. (Bunnies can become very distressed and in danger in temperatures above 85-90 degrees.)

Barley is one of 70 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please visit and ask for him by name.

Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for Chance by name. He is ready to shower you with lots of attention in exchange for a lifetime commitment into a forever home.

Chadwick is most likely an American mix rabbit with cinnamon and blue-grey coloring. He is neutered, approximately 18 months of age, and ready for adoption today.

We rescued Chadwick from another shelter.

Like all domesticated bunnies in our desert climate, he needs and deserves an indoor-only home.

Please visit and ask for Chadwick by name. He is one of 70 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

I love to curl up in your lap and give you kisses.

Update: Nina was adopted on July 6th!

Such a people-pleaser, little Nina enthusiastically seeks and craves your attention.

She also enjoys showing off for treats, pleasing you with her gentle behaviors, taking walks and exploring the neighborhood, and playing with other dogs.

Nina is most likely a Chihuahua & Miniature Pinscher mix. She is spayed, approximately 7-8 years of age, and ready for adoption.

Mistakenly overlooked by many visitors, this long-time resident is now being fostered by the good people at Camp Bow Wow, a doggie daycare and boarding facility at 5175 S. Valley View in Las Vegas. Please call Jennifer at Camp Bow Wow at 702-255-2267 to meet and get acquainted with Nina in person.

Special thanks too for this stunning portrait of Nina from Pet'ographique, a professional pet and family photography studio located at 10271 Eastern Avenue in Henderson, 702-568-0500.

Please open your heart to Nina. This charming little lady has a world full of unconditional love to offer you.

My cheerful, silly nature will bring you smiles every day.

Update: Dwayne was adopted on May 10th!

Dwayne
is a big, loving goofball, full of personality and innocence.

His happy-go-lucky disposition and playfulness help make him a super young boy who will steal your heart in no time.

Dwayne is a Labrador Retriever, neutered male, about 2 years of age. He is reportedly housetrained with a doggie door, enjoys playing ball, and is good with kind children.

He needed us because a family member in his previous home was allergic to him.

Please plan on plenty of exercise for Dwayne, perhaps with basic dog obedience training to help channel his energies into good behaviors.

Adopt me for a lifetime of laughs and delights.

Fenmore is a gem!

Very comical and outgoing, he naturally entertains and charms you with his daily behaviors.

One of his favorite tricks is catching his daily greens mid-air before they can land in his salad bowl.

Fenmore is a cute English Spot mix, neutered male, about 2 years of age.

We rescued him from another shelter.

Fenmore is one of 70 rescued, spayed/neutered bunnies for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
